Great Northampton Bank Robbery

On the morning of January 26, 1876, seven men from New York City pulled off the biggest bank robbery in United States history... then or now. With careful planning, daring moves and inside information, the gang who code-named themselves Rufus, made off with more than $1.6 million in cash and bonds. By today’s standards, that’s the equivalent of over $26 million. Bigger than Brinks. Bigger than the Great Train Robbery.
