Historic Northampton received a Publications Design Award in the New England Museum Association 1997 Publications Competition. Historic Northampton's 1996 Spring Programs Brochure won Honorable Mention in the Educational Materials Division. Designed by Administrative Assistant Marie Panik, the brochure was one of three publications to receive awards in that category. This regional competition is held annually by the New England Museum Association. The winning entries will be exhibited at NiA's annual conference in Hartford and will thereafter be donated to the Boston Public Library.
