Author of New Novel on Northampton to Discuss Historical Fiction

Historic Northampton and the Smith College Department of American Studies will present a lecture on Fiction and Fictional Fact: the Ethics of Writing Historical Fiction," by Brian A. Kiteley, Associate Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Denver. The lecture will be held Thursday, February 24th in 201 Seelye Hall at Smith College. The lecture will begin at 5:00 PM.
Kiteley will also read excerpts from his forthcoming book, The River Gods: A History of Northampton in Stories and Essays (Simon & Schuster). He is the author of two novels (Still Life with Insects and I Know Many songs, But I Cannot Sing) and the recipient of NEA, Whiting and Guggenheim fellowships. Kiteley grew up in Northampton.
