Time Travel
Children, ages 8-12, learned about life in Northampton through the eyes of a child of the 1870s in two one-week programs at Historic Northampton this summer. Life in 1875, directed by Educational Coordinator, Alena Shumway, ran in two sessions: June 24-28 and July 8-12. Through collection objects, walking tours of historic neighborhoods, role players, crafts, games, stories and other exciting activities, participants experienced a taste of life in a transitional time of Northampton's history.
