Electa Hunt
Miss Electa Hunt This is a popular stone in the Cemetery because it is one of the only stones in Bridge Street with the hourglass symbol. The hourglass represents time and death-all the sand is at the bottom of the glass. The two hourglasses surround the cherub, which transitional from the death's head because of the hourglasses and the crown. It is wearing the crown of righteousness, which symbolizes the triumph of death and the mortality of the flesh, but also the promise of triumph and rebirth. The stone is square, also showing that is takes influence from the older stones. It is surrounded by organic motifs interconnected, which represent life. |
